Department of Disaster and Emergency Medicine
Our missions are as follows, 1) to prepare medical relief for Nankai Trough Great Earthquake and Tsunami, 2) to reinforce education for medical students and residents, 3) to develop emergency medical practice in Koch-university hospital, 4) to bring up emergency physicians and contribute to regional medicine.
Our research area includes 1) medical relief planning for Nankai Trough Great Earthquake and Tsunami, for example hospital evacuation, wide area medical transport, and food stock for special patient’s condition, 2) mechanical ventilation for severe acute respiratory failure, for example high frequency oscillatory ventilation.
