II. Activity in Lubumbashi On October 25, we had a trip to Lubumbashi, Province of Katanga, in the Southern region. We were welcomed by Professor Wembonyama who also took good care of us together with his assistants and family.
●	Meeting with the President of the University of Lubumbashi, Professor CHABU MUMBA on Oct.26:
	-	Prof. Suganuma gave a short report on the progress of our inter-collegiate collaboration and emphasized the fact that more information about Lubumbashi is needed by the authorities of Kochi University.
●	Conference at the university: on October 27, Prof.Suganuma gave a conference on “The Japanese Pneumoconiosis screening and management system”.
●	Meetings with Prof. Wembonyama and his research team: we discussed about research themes and future on October 27, after the conference and had another meeting centered on research projects on October 30. Proposed research projects to be carried out in collaboration with our department at Kochi Medical School by the end of 2010:
	1-	Needlestick Injury in Teaching Hospitals
	2-	Assessment of effects of Environmental hazards with chemical wastes from a mining plant in Likasi, Province of Katanga.
	3-	Participatory Training of Physicians taking care of workers’ heatlh issues in Congolese Eastern and Southern regions companies and neighbor countries in diagnosis and interpretation of Pneumoconiosis CXR.
	4-	Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis in Congolese Casava and Corn millers.
	In total, 7 sub-themes from those 3 (No1, 2 and 4) research themes are going to be assigned to undergraduate students who will work under 4 assistants of School of public health working with Professor Wembonyama, the coordinator of all projects. The pre-survey on NSI study was carried out in July 2009 and, now, prof Wembonyama’s team has started the first survey at Sendwe University hospital. We need to motivate them with bonus they deserve for the first stage of study. Also, the faculty of medicine expect us to send lectures for undergraduate students using DVD for example and prints, in case we do not visit Lubumbashi by July 2009.

●	OSH conference Congo: from October 28 -30, I was attending the OSH conference with participants from African countries and Belgium.
	I gave an oral presentation on Pneumoconiosis CXR presentation and diagnosis that was very well received by participants. Some professors and doctors requested that a training should be organized in Africa by AIRPNEUMO or our department if possible.
